Australasia! Well, to begin with, Australasia covers not just Australia, Tasmania  and New Zealand but also many islands of the South Pacific, including New Guinea and all of the Oceania regions of Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia. A holiday in this region would be filled with unforgettable experiences and breathtaking scenery.

Australia is renowned for its ‘laid-back’ culture and you will have little difficulty in adopting this as your own style on arrival.

Wherever you visit in Australasia, the ‘Wow’ effect is ever present, Ski on the snow-covered Southern Alps of New Zealand in the morning and sunbathe on the beaches of New Brighton in the afternoon. Stopover in the Cook Islands to break up the flight across the Pacific and sample the tranquility of these sun-drenched and little populated beaches.

Enjoy Australasia at its best in the beautiful cityscapes, including those of Perth,  Sydney and Melbourne. Take in the famous ‘Bridgeclimb’ above Sydney Harbour and have a photo from the top with a backdrop of Sydney Opera House. Catch any of the double-bowed ferries and explore the many fabulous beaches, including Bondi, where the breakers literally take your breath away.

A visit to Australia wouldn’t be complete without watching the sunset over Ayres Rock, or Uluru as the original nation people call it. Still a sacred site and on close inspection one can understand why. Awesome! Fly into Alice Springs, or even better, catch the ‘Ghan’ – a train which plies between Adelaide in the South and Darwin in the North, and take advantage of the many tour operators who provide excellent and educational trips to the famous sites.

Food! No holiday in Australasia would be complete without enjoying the wide variety of cuisine it offers. Culturally diverse, Australasia provides menus for all appetites and diets.

Shopping around Circular Quay the stopping off for a coffee in the shadow of the cowls of the opera house, before strolling to the market stalls displaying a wealth of cultural and interesting gifts, which spring up each morning in ‘The Rocks’.

For travellers with more time to enjoy, the islands of Australasia are easily reachable with many flights from the major airports within Australia and  New Zealand.
